Youth Want Peace: the rest is up to us!
Here is a wonderful example of a constructive strategy, from which the rest of the world can learn. This amazing video, emerging from the planet's most volatile spot, produced by OneVoice movement and presented to Kings and Prime Ministers in Davos, Switzerland, clearly illustrates the yearning for peace. It describes a systematic approach to solving conflicts in a region plagued with hostilities, hatred and long history of wars. The youth took it upon themselves to initiate a transformation that might lead, at least, to a political solution of this long-lived dispute. Who else can project this dire need better than the youth who hold the key to the future?
Wow, I think this may spark a post on my blog, just got me thinking and so inspired.
ReplyDeleteFirstly King Abdullah never ceases to amaze me. He is a product of an antiquated system, and yet he is far more modern and progressive than most democratic leaders. When Baha'u'llah talks about a union of democracy and kingship, I see men like Abdullah. In fact I would have no problem living in a pure monarchy if we could ensure all our kings were like him. Just wow.
Secondly, there are two changes that must be made worldwide in democracies. These changes are being made no doubt. Democracy has traditionally been a beaurocratic system. This is antiquated now I think, the new democracy must be a primarily grassroots system. The only system I know that allows this is that given by Baha'u'llah. In creating a grassroots system youth will gain more power, as a grassroots system cannot be led primarily by older people, youth must and will become the driving force in the world.
This video is just wow.
Dear Gerald,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. Your excitement and enthusiasm are contagious! :-)
When Bahá'u'lláh issued his tablet "Bisharat" it is my firm belief that he was speaking of removing political campaigning that exists in western style democracies. Here in the USA the politicians arer masters at diverting the attention of the masses from extremly important issues such as Global Pollution, War and the extremes between destitution and undeserved wealth.

Although a republican form of government profiteth all the peoples of the world, yet the majesty of kingship is one of the signs of God. We do not wish that the countries of the world should remain deprived thereof. If the sagacious combine the two forms into one, great will be their reward in the presence of God.
(Bahá'u'lláh, Tablets of Bahá'u'lláh, p. 27)
Germany and France fought each other for centuries. Some sixty years ago they tried to leave in peace.
ReplyDeleteNow these two countries are the "engine" of the European Union.
What I wish for Israelis ans Palestinians is that they will achieve the same success as Germans and French in their cooperation.
