Baha'is of Egypt Anticipate Final Verdict in Two Days

Egypt's Supreme Administrative Court is scheduled, on 2 February 2009, to announce its verdict regarding the appeal brought by Islamist lawyers in their attempt to reverse the 29 January 2008 ruling that allowed the Baha'is of Egypt to obtain ID cards and birth certificates. This appeal is thought to be the last apparent hurdle to granting the Baha'is their due identity rights. In order to review the recent history of this case, please look at the last post linked here....

A global prayer chain has been organized by world youth, linked to at this site.

  2. Baha'is have the same belief as you do and agree with the quotation you have written in your comment. They too believe in the One God to whom we all answer.

  6. Naturally, you have the right to have your own belief. Others have just as much right to have their own. No one is entitled to force his/her own opinion or beliefs on others. It is everyone's own responsibility to search for the truth.

  7. To Ahmed,

As with all things related to spirituality and religious belief – which by their divine nature are inherently intricate, ever evolving, and not limited to single legitimate interpretations – one must exercise a patient inquisitiveness, and resist the impulse to conclude assumptions that may be one-dimensional and incomprehensive.

Whether empowering the sensations brought about by zealous faith, or conforming to the strict academic forms of religious study, one must be mindful that religion is divine by nature, and therefore, implies a manifestation that is beyond our capacity and right to claim to comprehend or deny, even by approach of the utmost detachment and unobstructed investigation.

The Baha’i Faith offers a world-unifying message that has reached beyond the limitations of nationality and religious association, and continues to widen despite the stormy commotion of unrestrained and divided theological aggression. The same has been witnessed at the inception of all religions, so perhaps a small measure of impersonal attention is to be observed, or at the least, respect towards those who have chosen to follow what has been achieved by sober investigation, and not through undemanding inheritance or fear of social recrimination.

  8. Amed allow me to tell you a story of an incident that happened here in the USA about 2 years ago...

a group of Muslims wanted to build a mosque in Alabama close to Birmingham...

Some members of the local Christian Clergy opposed this Mosque because they have a similar negative opinion of ISLAM as you do for the Baha’i Faith...

My guess is they still have in their memories of a terrorist attack in New York City in September 2001 that killed 3000+ Americans both Muslims Christians and Jews...by individuals who claimed to be Muslims but in my opinion they were not acting according to the principles revealed by the Prophet Mohammed...

In spite of that I supported their right to build the Mosque because as A Baha’i I believe that all the Evil that exists on this planet is not because there are Christians, Jews and Muslims in this world but because the leaders of these religions have obfuscated the truth that was revealed by the Prophets to the degree that their followers are so confused by these egregious lies that they do not know the difference between good and evil...

I suggest my friend you open your mind a little to allow peace to exist before we destroy this planet by some foolish war...
