For now, the next few weeks will indicate the intent and consequence of the verdict’s implementation. Whether there is disappointment or not, acknowledgment and further support is to be given to Egyptian institutions where any indication of emergence from inequality is achieved. It is an evolution of immense challenge for the country.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29145551.post-82203363958220189072008-01-30T18:34:00.000-05:002008-01-30T18:34:00.000-05:00Agree, thank you!Agree, thank you!Bilohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08060802520953738221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29145551.post-32424608333854217072008-01-30T14:18:00.000-05:002008-01-30T14:18:00.000-05:00The only way to clarify this recent development wi...The only way to clarify this recent development without speculating one way or another is to read and understand the official text of the verdict carefully. Let’s hope that the Baha’is are given the opportunity to do so and that they can ask for clarification on what they cannot understand. The court owes them that much.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29145551.post-41571632863667957532008-01-30T12:57:00.000-05:002008-01-30T12:57:00.000-05:00Naturally, it is important to see the full text of...Naturally, it is important to see the full text of the verdict. As mentioned before, it is possible that Al-Ahram's article could have presented some of the language of the ruling out of context. Al-Ahram's article, however, has already been published and is out in the public domain, thus it deserves to be addressed; otherwise it could be poised to disseminate false information.Bilohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08060802520953738221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29145551.post-66748081125243672802008-01-30T11:45:00.000-05:002008-01-30T11:45:00.000-05:00Friends, I am sure the Universal House of Justice ...Friends, I am sure the Universal House of Justice is quite capable ( :) ) , and its lawyers quite smart, and that when the House, through the BIC and the BWNS in NY and Geneva, says to the whole world that this is a victory, then this IS a victory, don't you think? =)Barmak Kushahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16935169930944025658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29145551.post-21440604307791707462008-01-30T10:53:00.000-05:002008-01-30T10:53:00.000-05:00This article published in the semi-official newspa...This article published in the semi-official newspaper Al-Ahram is ominous! Its point is that if there is an error on an official document that lists an unrecognized religion (in this case, Baha'i) this can be changed to a (-) so that Baha'i is not mentioned. If this is in fact what the court ruled, then it is a serious setback for the Baha'is in Egypt and adds rather than diminishes their trouble.

Let us be optimistic that the newspaper got the verdict wrong until we actually see the written verdict.

Perhaps we celebrated too soon, but perhaps the court's intent is what we initially understood it to b.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29145551.post-16384561786905965702008-01-30T10:52:00.000-05:002008-01-30T10:52:00.000-05:00Here is an interesting piece of news: "Iran and Eg...Here is an interesting piece of news: "Iran and Egypt 'to restore ties'"Bilohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08060802520953738221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29145551.post-11077162538483617662008-01-30T10:28:00.000-05:002008-01-30T10:28:00.000-05:00Also, of note: it is not up to an Egyptian court t...Also, of note: it is not up to an Egyptian court to decide on the divinity of a religion.
